Sinopean Gizem Eylul Ercan, who went to Spain for 10 months with our Erasmus+ European Voluntary Service project “Make it happen”, has come back home. Gizem, as a SEN teacher, participated in the activities for personal, social and occupational development of the disabled people. During her activity, she took walks, did handicraft activities, went shopping and to the library with them. She did sports and played a lot of games with them. She helped the children with their homework and taught English. She played games for the ones who have balance disorder in order to help their treatment with certain movements. She organized activities to develop their fine and gross motor skills. She presented the handiraft products of the disabled people in a stand in the public and she interacted with the inabitants. She took tasks in the music therapies with so many musical instruments. Gizem gave yoga lessons both to the disabled people and the staff. She took tasks in the cooking activities in order to make them autonomous. Gizem also helped them to use the computer and work in the garden. She learned Spanish and Catalan and taught Turkish to them. She introduced Turkish culture and made them try the Turkish food that she made.
Gizem added a lot to the development of disabled people in Spain as well as to her own development in this activity. Many thanks to her for her outstanding efforts in Spain for 10 months.
