We opened our exhibition, consisting of waste collected from beaches and the seabed through scuba diving as part of our “SEAL – Sustainable Environment for Aquatic Life” project, funded by the European Commission and part of the European Solidarity Corps, Volunteering Teams in High Priority Regions, to the public on July 25th on the seaside of Aşıklar Street in Sinop.
It lasted three nights, bringing together art, awareness, and community. Through our work, we showed how pollution in the Black Sea has changed – from a cleaner past, to a plastic-filled present, and a possible future where marine life is replaced by trash if we don’t take action.
Many visitors came by, asked questions, and showed real interest in the project. It was a powerful way to raise awareness, and remind people that change is still possible – of course only if we act now!
