Today, Filomena De Lucia from Italy sets off on an inspiring journey to Zanzibar, Tanzania with EPEKA’s ESC Humanitarian Aid Volunteering project “STARRY”, funded by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).
For the next 12 months, Filomena will dedicate her time and skills to the amazing work of Assalam Community Foundation (ACF):
• Support library, lab, and art/science classes as a teacher, co-teacher, or facilitator.
• Help children grow and care for their permaculture gardens
.
• Join them on excursions and prepare for showcase performances – even those held before the President of Tanzania!
• Assist in training programmes for women in tourism, culinary arts, pastry, early childhood education, sewing, and permaculture.
• Provide entrepreneurship workshops and teach basic English.
• Organise trips and creative workshops to inspire and empower.
We’re incredibly proud of Filomena and wish her the best of luck on this life-changing adventure.
Let’s cheer her on as she makes a difference, one project at a time!
