We held our Erasmus+ Mobility of Youth Workers – Training Course “NGO Management and Administration” with 31 participants from 14 countries at Sinop Antik Hotel between 25 November – 1 December 2018. The trainers of our training course: Our former volunteer Ismail Sehic from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Irem Ebru Kuru, the president of our association.
The Erasmus+ KA1 Mobility of Youth Workers “NGO Management and Administration” as a training course is for the presidents, managers and workers of the small and medium NGOs in the youth field to strengthen their managemental and administrative competences on financial sustainability, leadership skills, PR and partnership building.
The objectives of the training course as follows:
– Supporting participants to deal with the current context of young people’s lives and for transferring fundamental values to the societies where they live.
– Exploring bias, fears and failures, focused on risks in NGO work connected with the most problematic issues: a need to find best methods to reach the sensitive young people, critical thinking, sense of initiative of young people, fund raising for the activities and call for volunteers.
– Fostering the quality of the managemental skills of the participants in human resources, financing, and public relations.
– Improving the leadership and entrepreneurship skills of the participants with study cases and simulations.
– Promoting diversity and intercultura
In the training course, there were 31 participants from Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Italy, Jordan, Lithuania, Macedonia, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey to meet the aim and objectives of the project in Sinop, Turkey
The Non-Formal Learning methods such as name games, team building games, energizers, brain storming, group work, pair work, station method, role play, lectures of the presidents of NGOs, onsite visits to NGOs (the Association of Sustainable Development of Sinop and Sinop Telvin Art Academy), leadership game of DHL company about the categories of managers, most challanging study cases in NGOs, simulation games for social entrepreneurs, daily self reflections and evaluations and collaborative work for the follow-up will be applied in the following sessions Get to Know Each Other, Where and How I came, My Profile, Let’s Learn about Sinop and Turkey, Introduction of the Training Course, Fears, Expectations and Contributions, Realities of Young People Today, My Professional Path as a Worker in the NGO, Tasks and Challenges of a President / Manager of an NGO, Learning from the Failures, NGO Fair, Presidents’ Talk, You are my Leader, Manager vs Leader, Study Case, Business Enterprise vs Social Enterprise, Simulations for Social Enterprise, Erasmus+, Youthpass, How we can collaborate & follow up? and Individual and joint responses of the groups. There were also cultural evenings when all the countries presented their own culture and excursions to the natural and historical beauties of Sinop. 7 participants were hosted by Barış FM (the local radio station) on live and shared their impressions of the training course and Sinop and Turkey with the audience.
