We were in Gerze again on the last day of our third week of our European Solidarity Corps, Volunteering Teams in High Priority Areas project “Sustainable Environment for the Aquatic Life – SEAL” funded by the European Commission. This time, we cleaned the Gerze harbor with Sinop University Underwater Technology Department Academicians Ömer Salih Aslan, Bora Eyüpoğlu, Recep Öztürk and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zafer Karslı, students of Sinop University Underwater Technology Department and volunteers with diving badges from Spain, Jordan and Portugal. Among the items that were pulled out of the sea were carpets, beds, car tires, beverage cans and many plastic and metal wastes.
