Seabed cleaning in the breakwater area

In our third week of our European Solidarity Corps, Volunteering Teams in High Priority Areas project “Sustainable Environment for the Aquatic Life – SEAL” funded by the European Commission, we cleaned the Sinop breakwater area with scuba diving. Accompanied by Sinop University Underwater Technology Department Lecturers Ömer Salih Aslan, Bora Eyüpoğlu, Recep Öztürk and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zafer Karslı, Sinop University Underwater Technology Department students and volunteers with diving badges from Spain, Jordan and Portugal, we removed car tires, fishing nets, beverage cans and bottles and many other plastic and metal waste from the sea.
