We cleaned the Sarıkum beach

In our second week of our European Solidarity Programme High Priority Areas Volunteer Teams project “Sustainable Environment for the Aquatic Life – SEAL” funded by the European Commission, we cleaned Sarıkum beach. We came across a lot of plastic, household items, shoes and medical waste. We also found a seagull chick with a broken wing. Our veterinary volunteer, Ayşenur, gave the bird first aid. We called the National Parks Directorate and they came to pick up the seagull to Sarıkum Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre for treatment.
